Genertec displays achievements, cooperation fruits, telemedicine equipment at 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo

2023-06-28

Genertec exhibited its achievements in serving high-quality China-Africa cooperation under the Belt and Road initiative (BRI), fruits of pragmatic cooperation with African partners in the health industry, and telemedicine equipment at the third China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) in Changsha, Hunan Province.

Since the CAETE was inaugurated in 2019, Genertec has taken part in every edition of the event, during which it has fully demonstrated the fruits of China-Africa cooperation by displaying social, livelihood, and infrastructure projects it has participated in and completed in Africa, with focus on such fields as infrastructure construction, development of energy resources, international cooperation on increasing production capacity, pharmaceuticals, and medical and health care services.

The 3rd CAETE kicked off in Changsha city on June 29 under the theme "Common Development for a Shared Future".

Major infrastructure projects reflect extraordinary strength

Genertec exhibited a sand table of a digital communication and energy solution at the China-Africa Achievement Exhibition on High-level Building of the BRI of the 3rd CAETE.

The sand table was based on a project for building communication and digital networks for rural areas of Ghana. Genertec has designed, purchased, operated, and maintained 2016 communication towers for the project, which has benefited more than three million people in the rural areas of Ghana.

The project has satisfied the communication needs of Ghana's rural residents, improved the overall development situation of the country's information and communication industry, and helped the country leverage progress in the industry to boost economic development and promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.

Medical assistance paves way for collaborative endeavors to improve health services

Cooperation in the health industry constitutes an important part of China-Africa friendship and cooperation. With the theme of "Providing all-round and full-life-cycle health services covering all business forms," Genertec showcased the substantial results of its pragmatic cooperation with African partners in the health industry at the 3rd CAETE.

Capitalizing on its industrial expertise, Genertec has in recent years sent medical professionals in various hospitals affiliated to it to many African countries, including Niger, Benin, Chad, Tanzania, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Zambia, and Namibia, to assist with medical services.

Furthermore, Genertec has continuously innovated medical service models in a bid to help African countries improve their public health service capacity. On the one hand, Genertec has integrated its medical and health-care service resources to actively provide telemedicine services for patients in Africa. On the other hand, Genertec has vigorously arranged for Chinese doctors to provide medical services overseas and endeavored to establish a talent cultivation system featuring joint training, collaborative partnership, and vocational education and training.

During the 3rd CAETE, a good number of visitors were attracted to rich TCM promotional activities held at the exhibition booth of Genertec, where TCM doctors prescribed health regimens for visitors according to their health condition.

Telemedicine solution brings smart medical care near

Genertec's exhibition zone featuring telemedicine solution at the 3rd CAETE offered visitors a glimpse into the joint efforts of Chinese enterprises and African people to create a better life.

A wide range of telemedicine equipment, including ECG device, retinal screening device, and Internet of Things (IoT) platform for medical equipment, were on display in the exhibition zone.

Patients at high risk for myocardial infarction can have their monitoring data automatically uploaded onto the IoT platform through a wearable ECG device. When a patient's indicator exceeds a threshold, the platform automatically gives an alert. The doctors on duty will immediately contact the patient's family while initiating emergency treatment to make sure the patient receives treatment as soon as possible.

Genertec's retinal screening device on display in the exhibition zone can screen for common risks of blindness and also assess future risks of chronic diseases, such as hypertension and diabetes.
